Thank you, North Carolina, for supporting our Ukrainian community! It takes COURAGE to support Ukraine!
This week Ukraine marks its 32nd modern Independence Day while honoring its millennia-long cultural heritage.
Over the last 18 months, Triangle has become home to hundreds of Ukrainian families that fled the Russian invasion and came to the US on the Uniting for Ukraine program.
We are grateful to the North Carolina Courage players, team leadership and Mr. & Mrs. Malik for recognizing today’s match and showing solidarity with Ukraine. Unfortunately, with hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians killed, many more wounded and millions displaced by Russian aggression, Europe’s largest and bravest democracy is now fighting to protect its home and defend and preserve freedom for Ukraine and for the rest of the world.
Ukrainians in the Carolinas, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) NC nonprofit organization, and their network of Ukrainian-American volunteers and friends of Ukraine has been working to assist the people of Ukraine since 2014, when Russia first invaded Ukraine.
So, come by and say Pyrvit (pri-veet), which means "hello" or "welcome".
Thank you to all of the fans who came out for a great game of soccer and to celebrate Ukraine’s courage and resilience!
Thank you, North Carolina, for supporting Ukraine! Slava Ukraini!
